30 Squadron

Our association with 30 Squadron RAAF Beaufighter Association began early in the piece when we were contacted by Messrs Norm Williams and Fred Anderson advising that their emblem comprises a peregrine falcon holding a lightning bolt, after seeing our first TV news reports. We were delighted to receive a visit from Mr Williams and Mr Anderson and were able to show them FalconCam Project and provide large screen live vision via both cameras of our very first charge, Migii (named after the local Wiradjuri for “lightning”, having surprisingly been born just 3 days after a direct lightning strike on the water tower). We were as enthralled in listening to their stories as we believe they were of seeing our Migii and parents up the tower and greatly appreciate the Association’s financial involvement with the Project.

The following season we were also visited by Squadron member Mr Rob Bicknell who appeared on one of our news items and showed great interest. Our association with 30 Squadron RAAF Beaufighter Association is long and we value the alliance.
