Hi Kathy!
We're pretty lucky keeping these two adults around for the whole year, although it quite often means a sore neck as we seem to check up the tower every time we walk outside! No sign of the 3 youngsters since possibly about January; it seems this unusually cool and average summer advanced the push to get them out in to their own new territories. It usually happens about March/April so it was a shame to see them gone so soon. Banding is still on the cards; we just have to overcome a few political issues and we should be good to go. It has certainly meant plenty of confusion for everyone in not being able to positively identify the family members. Stay tuned on that topic...

So wonderful to still have news of Swift & Beau "down under", even as the winter in the southern hemisphere approaches. Do you ever spot any of their chicks? It would be wonderful if you were able to band their chicks so that perhaps they could be tracked. Might there be a possibility of this in the future, Scott or Cilla?

Haven't looked in the nestbox for a little while so thought I'd check it out. Sure could use a little tidy-up. LOL! I guess neither Swift nor Beau are very good at housekeeping! LOL!

So nice to hear that Swift & Beau are still around. And thanks for the best wishes to all of your viewers in the Northern Hemisphere. Yes, indeed, our peregrine season up here in North America is back in full swing, much to our delight! Here in Winnipeg, Canada, our two resident pairs have returned from their long journey down south.
Princess, our resident female in downtown Winnipeg, has laid 4 eggs and has begun incubating! And we are expecting our resident pair in Brandon, Manitoba to be laying eggs any day now. Our webcams will only be up around the end of May, though. Will keep you posted, Scott & Cilla.

Hi Scotty, Glad things are well down there. I do check in on your blogs to make sure I do not miss anything....LOL Have been watching the Decorah Eacles in Decorah Iowa - Watched the Mom lay her first egg, she now has 3 and due to hatch anytime now. Everyone is holding their breath with anticipation, myself included.... Watched them last year raise 3 eaglets and it was totally amazing. The antics of the parents plus the little ones is awesome just like Beau, Swift and their children. I just love it....

Take care and I'll be checking in again soon...

best regards - Bobi

Hi Jeff,
No problems, will do. We temporarily retain all materials removed from the eyrie for Cilla's research and will sort through and advise of any rings we locate. Fortunately we haven't found any new rings for a few years now!
Cheers, Scott

When you have finnished cleaning the nest site out , can you please let me know if any pigeon rings are found so the owners of them can be notified. Info needed is the ring numbers - eg- ORA 123 and year.

Hi Bobi,
Thanks for your really positive comments! Orange has again missed the most severe flooding episodes that have plagued the eastern side of the Austrlaian continent for a while now. Consequently the worst local happenings have just been flooded paddocks and maybe a briefly closed side road. We're very lucky right here but our thoughts are with everyone around us suffering some amazing bad luck! Beau and Swift have made a wise choice to stick with us here and indeed Swift is spending most of every day on the ledge now.
Glad you enjoyed this eventful past season with the 3 young'ns. We do realise that we're privileged to have them on our doorstep so we'll keep bringing the best coverage we can to everyone further afield.
Cheers,
Scotty

Hi Scotty... Have been wondering about all the flooding going on down there and hope all of you are in a safe area???? I have friends in Coober Pedy and was also concerned about them however they are on holiday and will be back at their opal mine the end of March and assured me they are far away from the flooding. I always check on your blogs and didn't see any for March... Hope all is well...
