About Us

Gumtree Computer Services, now based in Orange, NSW, began a few years ago as an idea to establish a computer business that concentrates on the smaller businesses and individuals who don't have a budget to pay for full-time computer staff and don't require full-time support or maintenance of their computer equipment and websites. We operate on a "part-time" basis with you.

There are two main focuses to the operation:

    a) Website maintenance and management, and
    b) Hardware, software, desktop and small network support

Specialties

a) The world of the Internet is massive and all-encompassing. Every aspect of modern business and personal interest can now be applied and advertised. Our support is primarily to help maintain existing websites that, due to whatever reason, are no longer kept up to date or need a re-design.

A few years ago I went looking for small business support and advice on government websites and noticed that the "Last Updated.." dates were, in some cases, more than 2 years old! I decided that the market needed someone who could improve on this.

We're able to obtain and contract professional design services in for those who want to start from scratch with a newly designed website, but our primary target audience is the group of small businesses and individuals who can operate inside of 5 main template-style website packages (from very simple to more complex). This keeps costs for websites and their ongoing maintenance down, and certainly improves time to publication. The amount and frequency of contact and maintenance for individual websites is pre-negotiated and pre-arranged, with charges set accordingly........ very simple!

b) Our computer support work involves mainstream products and brands. The software world is currently dominated by Microsoft desktop and office productivity software but the world is changing dramatically. Our support also covers Windows networking and other TCP/IP issues. Most hardware platforms can be analysed and recommendations and repairs made.
